Pay Range: $15-$18
Hours: 24 hours per week
Weekend Shifts are required
Exodus Place – Michigan’s largest nonprofit transitional housing program for men coming from homelessness, incarceration and other life challenges – is seeking an energetic, punctual individual with commercial kitchen experience. This individual will work as a team with the Exodus Place kitchen staff adhering to the standards and culture of the Exodus Place Community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Answer, report and follow Managers’ instructions.
• Prep, cook and serve meals.
• Responsible for cleaning kitchen cooking area post meals.
• Knowledge and flexibility to work at several different stations.
• Ability to keep workstations stocked, prepared and clean.
• Knowledge of common dietary restrictions and cold tray assembly.
• Ability to present a friendly demeanor to fellow staff and members.
• Assist in unloading trucks and food storage.
• Handle the record keeping and preparation of carry out meal trays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• ServSafe Certified.
• Knowledge of using a commercial grill and oven.
• Knowledge of using commercial grade appliances.
• Ability to follow recipes and menus.
• Must be knowledgeable of portion control and quality assurance. • Must be a strong communicator.
• Knowledge of knife skills a plus
• Knowledge of batch cooking a plus
